Waiting Quietly

Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him

Psalms 62:5

Have you ever been in a time of waiting? Waiting for the blessing of a child... waiting for a healing? Waiting to hear about a job?
That's where I am today, waiting to hear if I got a job that I interviewed for last week.
Times are tough and I need this job. I hate the unknown... I like to know what's going to happen and have a game plan.
But like always in life, certain things are out of my control. So I turn to Him and wait quietly. Knowing my hope is in Him, not in a job.
My heartfelt prayer: Dear Jesus,
I am confident in you. You know exactly what I need physically and spiritually. You know me inside and out and so I simply trust and wait on you. I promise you today to do my part and I can't wait to see what you hold in my future. Love, Jennifer

Jennifer, I have been following you for a while and I think you should help your Dad pick the name for his blogspot. You did a great job picking yours and I LOVE your "Heartfelt Prayer" . You are precious.

Jennifer, I'm asking the Lord to bless your finances with either this job or one that He's hand-picked for you. Keep trusting!

By the way, your print looks fine against this dark rose background. I would leave it as is.

Hi Jennifer, you are so sweet to comment to me about the background! It looks fine, I just have 47 year old eyes- LOL! You are doing a fantastic job. I just love reading your blog, you are keeping your mom's memory alive and we all love that! You need to help your dad a bit with his title, and his blog. I feel like he is preaching to us. We miss him talking about your mom, and honestly, I am just not ready to let her go yet. I have noticed that a lot of folks haven't followed him over and I think it is because his messages all seem like "lessons" he wants us to learn. I for one, don't really need that. One reason I love the blog is to hear about the heartbeat of your lives. And it also helps me to pray for all of you. Keep up the great work. Thank you for sharing your heart and your life. We will be praying for you to get the perfect job. Blessings friend! BTW, are you a scrapbooker?

Hi Jennifer, Are you sure you want to get a job outside the home? Being a mother, wife, and homemaker and doing it well is a full time job. I am a woman who worked outside the home for many years and missed a lot while my children were growing up. If I could go back and do things differently I believe I would do everything in my power to stay at home. I have recently lost my job and haven't been able to find a new one. I have made changes to save where I can. I no longer use my clothes dryer but hang my clothes on the line outside (unless it rains all week). I also buy fewer convenience foods and opt to make from scratch. I cut coupons and shop sales much better than I used to. I know that many women work outside the home and they and their families do just fine but I would only suggest that in your prayers for a job you leave room for God to make a way for you to stay at home. I knew your Mom and Dad many years ago. I didn't know about her blog until just after she passed away. I wish I had. I'm going back and reading it from the beginning and I'm keeping up with your Dad's new blog. You are in my prayers.

Anonymous 8:05, Yes I miss my mom's blog too. When she was still here, I loved reading all the neat things she and my dad did! And now I look back and treasure her "voice" that I hear through her writings. I miss her so much... the comfort I'm holding onto right now is I feel her with me. When I pray, when I read my bible I feel her. It's hard to describe, I think He comforts me this way. Jesus always catches me with His unique style of love. It's His love I'm chasing after and to feel my mother through Him just makes me hold on all the more tighter. Thanks for talking about her, I love to hear about her and talk about her. I plan to talk about her a lot on here. I hope it doesn't get old, but it's what I need.

Yes, I've done scrapbooking, but it's been awhile. I actually have Lorenzo's baby book all done, I just need to add his pictures!

Anonymous 8:58,

Oh YES I would love to keep staying home. My heart is at home with my kids and husband. I love taking care of the little things and cooking big Puerto Rican dishes. It definitely is a full time job and one I so enjoy. I love taking care of the heart of my family.

I am praying for God's will in all of this. Perhaps He will provide a way for me to stay home...

Thanks for the tips on saving! Life is so expensive on this island, we don't even have central a/c (only a single window unit in the master that we turn on at night) and still our electric bill is close to $400 a month! Anyway we are all about cut, cut, cutting the extras.

I love your blog! I'm glad to see you blogging more often now. I had been following your mother's blog since November 2007 and now your dad's new blog.

Sounds like wedding plans are in the works for your dad -- according to the next to last line of his poem on Thursday's post.

I saw your grandfather's post on your blog Sunday morning, but it was rapidly removed. I guess he "let the cat out of the bag".

Anonymous 10:42, All I can say is love is in the air! It's up to my dad what/how/when he shares more in the blogger world. Stay tunned to his blog!
