Did you know God sings?

Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

I stubbled over this sweet little passage the other day and thought "what a revelation into God's heart!"

I read it like this: The Lord my God is with me When I'm alone, scared, or worried. He is a strong and powerful God that magnificently saves! And get this! He likes me! He laughs over me. ME! Imagine that! He wraps His love around my heart so tight until I can only be still in awe. And then He sings about me, and the heavens respond to this singing!

Yes, it's a wonderful thought, to know that God delights in us just as we delight in our children. Last night you called me and said, "I love Claudia (your daughter) so much. Tonight, I put her to bed with a giggle on her lips. She was so darling." You were delighting in her, as a delightful child. God delights in us like that.

Jennifer, God's hand is on your life and as even greater things in store for you than you can imagine. Trust Him. Obey Him. Follow Him. He will bless and guide you in all you do. Your Mom and I are so thankful for you and love you, but God loves you even more--even more than you love your own children. That is amazing as you say, but it is true.

Love, Dad

in theory, it makes sense, but when trying to imagine it, it's almost mind-blowing. wow...

And about the singing, it reminds me of 'When Heaven Weeps' by Ted Dekker. The priest and the vision. Anticipation is killing me!(actually time is, but hey =P)

thanks for posting...

Hi Jennifer,

I know you're a busy Mom, but I miss your messages. They are always so spiritually refreshing. Granny and I think of you everyday and keep you in our prayers. Sure would love to see you and the little ones.

Be blessed!

Love ya,

Samuel, Yes I too thought about Ted Dekker when I came across this. I wonder if he based it on this passage.

Granddaddy, Thanks for commenting, it means the world to me!
